Why Opetus ?
OPETUS Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (formerly OPETUS), formed in 1991, was initially in the hardware service and resellers domain.
Though the company had expertise in systems programming and embedded systems the initial focus of the company was into manufacturing and
reselling of PC and PC based servers but with an approach of providing a complete solution to the end users which included power, electrical, networking hardware and software solutions.
The expertise of system programming was slowly diversified into vertical specific software solutions, as every customer needed some back office automation, which was beyond locally available products or office suite solutions.
OPETUS Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is an extended exports arm of OPETUS, which operates locally in India at various development and support centres, through tie-ups, dealers and reseller network. The primary development centre is Mumbai based and partners like Intellectual Embryo (based in Dubai Internet City), Indsoft in South Mumbai and a small divisional branch office at Surat manage geographically scattered reselling and support.
Over the past decade of operations, OPETUS has developed and executed:
- An experienced pool of software consultants with skills on a wide variety of domains including Education, and platforms like Windows, Linux, UNIX and other RTOS.
- A set of three delivery centers in India and abroad, each functionally required equipments, skilled technical manpower and quality systems and processes.
- Specific expertise in a large number of vertical industry segments, including Media and Infotainment, Education, Hospitality and in horizontal, technology areas such as eCommerce, Manufacturing, Imaging and Workflow Solutions, Legacy Systems, where specific investments are made to create value propositions for customers.
- A set of systems and procedures that comprehensively satisfy, and are certified to meet, the ISO 9002 standards (under implementation) and are geared to providing to international customers quality software services using various operating models, including offshore support services

Proven Track Record in software development and support programs
Since early 90’s, OPETUS has been involved in providing project based software solutions, but has also successfully set up and executed various dedicated POC sites, both in the areas of Software Development and support.
OPETUS has developed and implemented broadcasting solution for various entertainment channels in India. An educational channel which was one of the group entities had planned for distant learning and remote virtual school. With the expertise of broadcast management from earlier successful projects a Web Channel was developed during the DOTCOM boom which was a unique combination of back office administrative needs and integrated curriculum content management. The entire business model was to achieve a cheap billable service of education model with various technology integration of web casting, broadcasting and internet as WebTV or WebSchool. The project was implemented partially and development aborted for lack of infrastructure and paucity of funds.
OPETUS has reengineered a set of legacy systems from various Foxpro, Dbase, MSAccess and need based homegrown systems to an open platform n-Tier web-based Integrated IMS –Information Management System for NMIMS. This is combination of intranet back office solution based on client server “OPETUS” with web based internet solution supporting Library, Payroll, Student Information Module, Staff module which help students and faculty solve real time problems of scheduling, time table management, course details and admission related issues, student – faculty interaction etc…
